So, this is my blog. First day. We are shooting our first show
tomorrow. Sort of. It's not really the first show you're going to
see. It's like the 3rd show you're going to see, but we have to
shoot it tomorrow for fascinating reasons that I will not get into
here. The show is going great. We're having a lot of fun. I can't
wait for you guys to see it. It's super funny and really different
and I think you will get a kick out of it. There's something for
everyone. We want to get you involved, so keep an eye out because
we're going to be throwing stuff on to the website that everyone can
be a part of the show. I'm looking forward to playing with you and
I'll talk to you soon.

The show premiered yesterday, Monday September 18th. My husband
and I watched it together as it aired because we wanted to see when
it was really on TV. We sat in my office where I don't normally have
a TV, but they put one in for us so we could see the show, which was
nice. I hope you guys liked it. I sure had a lot of fun doing it.
We're into our normal routine now. We shot a show with Lisa Kudrow
today and she was really funny and great, so you'll have to tune in.
I'm exhausted b/c they made me wake up at 6:00 am to do interviews
to promote the show. I got 2.5 hours of sleep. When I know have to
get up early, I have trouble falling asleep because I get stressed
out knowing that I'm going to be tired. So, I end up staying up even
later. It doesn't make any sense, but that's what I do. I'll get a
good night's sleep tonight. - Talk to you later.

I did get a pretty good night's sleep last night.
But I'm still wasted from having to wake up so early on Monday. I got
to work this morning and I had all this stuff in the car with me.
There's a lot of equipment that comes along with this job. I've got
this gigantic notebook with all the notes for the two shows that we're
doing today. We do 2 shows a day; two on Tuesday, two on Wednesday and
two on Friday at 1:00 and 5:00. So, last night I spent the whole night
from the minute I got home until 2:00 in the morning preparing for the
shows today. I have to read over all the notes to make sure I'm
familiar with the guests and what they want to talk about. And I have
to watch a bunch of DVDs of shows. I wanted to watch the season finale
of Desperate Housewives again because I wanted to refresh my memory
for Felicity Huffman who was on the show today. Then I watched Without
a Trace because we had Enrique Murciano who we had on the same show. I
also watched the season finale of the office again to anticipate Rainn
Wilson's appearance on the 5:00 show. I already put the Office back in
my TiVo. Carol Burnett will be on that same show so I'm super excited.
I did a lot of thinking about Carol and what we might be able to talk
about.
As I said earlier, I go to bed at 2:00 am and I get up and get to the
office in the morning with my huge purse stuffed with a million things
and it weighs 197 pounds. So, I have my notebook, DVDs, a big bottle
of water and a humongous thermos. I'm a complete nerd about herbal
tea. I have to have it with me every day. And I had this book called
the Giant Golden Book of Elves and Fairies because we plan on doing a
monologue on that and I was cradling it to protect it. So, I'm talking
to Sean Hayes on my cell phone while I'm juggling all of this and I
dropped everything on the ground and my thermos shattered and my cell
phone flew into 12 pieces. No one's around until something happens of
course. Suddenly there are 2 people there. I divvied up the goods and
finally got upstairs. I was not at my happiest moment. But then after
5 minutes it all blew over and it was fine.
We had Daniel Powter on the show today singing Bad Day and I thought,
wait a minute. Is this prophecy? I started out the day breaking all my
stuff in the parking lot! But ever since then everything's been great.
So, there you go.
Now, I'm anxiously awaiting my segments with Carol Burnett, because
she really is an idol of mine. I hope you guys get to see that show.
